Indigenous Womxn’s March 2018

An empowering photo series of the first Indigenous Womxns March in 2018 in Downtown Portland, Oregon. The event was controversial due to the breakaway from the original organizers involved with what was supposed to be named and referred to as the “Women’s March”. Indigenous leaders took over, and gave themselves the voice to remind the crowd that we are on stolen land, to raise awareness of the issue within the community involving missing and murdered indigenous women (#MMIW), and was an especially important event to tell the horrifying stories of their experience and treatment during the protesting of the Standing Rock Pipeline .
